[concours] 2000 Concours standings

Journal has decided it is more important to publish 3 pages of racing news

publish individual concours results (which is unavailable elsewhere).

I don’t think there is enough information in the standings on the JCNA
wedsite to support a statement that there is an “obvious misalignment”.

John… I’m afraid that I have to disagree with just about
every comment you have made on this subject over the last few posts, however
let me clarify for you and other listers the situation specific to concours
results.

There is absolutely no difference between the year end 2000 results you see
posted on the JCNA web site and what will be portrayed in Jaguar Journal
(Jan/Feb issue) since there was common data for both media. Secondly,
commencing this year the JCNA web site will post ALL concours, slalom and
Rally results soon after they occur for all clubs including ALL entrants.
That’s pretty comprehensive and certainly prompt!
Just another new support service that many JCNA members have requested.
Happy to oblige!

Bruce: I, for one, am glad to see that results for all concours will be
posted on the JCNA web site. That will be a very useful service.

I based my statement on the Recent Jaguar Journal article by Mike Cook in
which he stated the Jaguar Journal would not be publishing all concours
results. I assume the Journal will continue that policy.

Will the JCNA website be posting all 2000 concours results?

many clubs post their results on their own site, we do by the evening of the
Concours for people from out of town who can’t stay for the awards. Check
out the club list on jcna.com for links to each club.

Re the Houston / Dallas / San Antonio, i could be wrong but these 3 Concours
are enough to qualify the cars for National rankings, they don’t need to
go outside Texas.

Folks, this will be my last post on this subject on this list. If any JCNA
member wants to continue the discussion, I suggest visiting
http://www.jcna.com (Forums), where my good friends Larry Matrz (yes thanks,
I got your email) and Rufus Coburn have initiated separate threads about
similar subjects. As to John’s point about what will be shown on our site,
while
the Jag Journal may print names of 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, we will identify
all entrants scores and positions. This way those folks who ardently track
their progress throughout the year will have an accurate assessment of ‘who
is where’. It’s not beyond the bounds of possibility for an individual to
get fourth place at one of several concours entered and yet still be
nationally/regionally placed at the end of the year just by points average
alone. Maybe other webmasters will also follow Pascal’s excellent example
too!

Warm Jaguar regards to all,

Bruce MacCormack
