[concours] Mark IX steering wheel

Is there an aftermarket steering wheel for the Mark IX
acceptable to JCNA the way the Derrington wheel is not a
deduction on the Mark II?

If a wood steering wheel is listed as an option in a Mk1X parts
catalog then that exact wheel would not be a deduction. Do you have a
JCNA Concours rule book, if not get one as it covers subjects such as
this.

The other part of the issue, from a JCNA concours perspective, is what does
the OEM Jaguar MK IX Parts Catalogue say about steering wheels. According
to the copy I have the normal production steering wheel is “Steering Wheel
(18” Diameter)" part number C.13849. However, the list of Optional Extras
includes “Steering Wheel (Covered White)” part number C.7806.

If you presented your MK IX at a JCNA concours, the Judges would expect to
see the black 18" steering wheel, part number C13849. However, if you had a
white steering wheel, could prove that it was part number C.7806 and had a
MK IX Parts Catalogue with you to show that this was an approved option,
there would be no deductions. The standard deduction for a non-authentic
steering wheel is 6.0 points. If you didn’t have one of the two steering
wheels on your MK IX at a JCNA concours, and you had an aftermarket one,
you should receive the 6.0 deduction.
