[concours] Tool Roll Fabric for Showing Purposes

If you were preparing a 100 point or close to it, S1 E type
FHC and the tool roll fabric was original but showing a lot
of cracking, would you keep it for showing purposes or
replace it with a reproduction?

In other words, what would the judges prefer?–

Condition and authenticity are the only things that are being judged in JCNA Concours with the exception of the preservation class where deductions are taken for most non original parts. If you have not done so download the concours rulebook from the JCNA website.

In Champion Class competition, the only item that is not deducted for when
there is visible wear and tear is the original chassis identification plate.
Cleanliness requirements, however, are still in effect even for that special
exemption item.

Bob and Hal,

Thank you both for your information regarding ‘‘condition’’ as
it pertains to the tool roll. I have referred to the
Concours Rule Book and see that condition trumps
originality, I am not sure that I agree, however that is the
rule.

Hi Jonathan,
JCNA’s "original to the car”, with a few exceptions, is important only in the presentation class. When you get right down to it unless a part is marked with the engine, chassis, etc number there is no way that you can prove that the part, in this case tool roll, came with the car as it rolled out of the factory.
