Coolant bypass hose (EAC 3803) replacement

Hello everyone!
Do I have to drain the engine coolant to replace this hose? It runs between the thermostat housing and the water pump.
Thanks.

Only what comes out when you take it off, unless its been a long while between changes. Then do a complete drain and refill remembering to turn the heater controls to hot.

Thanks Robin. The coolant is about a year old. The new hose is on the way. URO, $15.77 from ebay.

Well, I replaced the hose and the gushing out coolant almost filled my 7qt oil drain pan.
I had to remove the air filter housing, set the air pump aside, remove it’s bracket and remove the rubber hose/metal pipe coolant combo that runs between the coolant over flow tank and the water pump housing. Then I had enough room to get to the bottom part of the bypass hose and a clamp. Installing the new hose was a bit of challenge since I had to squeeze it between the water pump and the thermostat housing but it’s doable.
