Coolant temp sensor

back from vacation, have ordered new sensor. what is the procedure to install, draining a bit of coolant i presume

All caps closed, unscrew old almost completely, get the new one in-hand, spin out the old and let it drop, screw new one in quickly.

Coolant flows out, no air introduced.

great news, thanks… michael 85 xjs

Yeah, it’s super easy. Even though you’ll lose a bit of coolant, would be good to clean the threads with a toothbrush or something when the old one is out.

Others can chime in, but I usually put a tiny bit of anti-seize on the new sensor’s threads.
