[E-Type] Caster adjustment

Does anyone know what the value of a full turn of the
fulcrum shaft is in camber degrees?
I had my alignment checked at a shop yesterday and if I knew
that value It would help me correct the caster angle.
The toe is fine and the camber is only off on one side by .5
degrees (2-shims).
Thanks guys!

John,

10 for stub axle carrier length
1 UNF fulcrum shaft is 14 tpi = 0.07143 pitch
Arcsine(0.07143)/10 = 0.41 deg/turn

No originality on my part, I was given the info

Go to any Midas shop in your area and have the alignment
checked and adjusted for about $40.
The caster is an easy adjustment for them, why did’nt
they adjust it right away?

Wow Dave!
You make it sound so simple…
Great info, thank you very much!!!

Walter, I wish…
The most they will do is adjust toe-in around these parts.
Camber involves shims, caster involves removing mud shield
components to remove the fulcrum shaft cotter pins and
loosening up the nuts prior to turning the fulcrum shaft.
Now, with a proper readout, I can make the final adjustments
and go back for a final check.
Thanks all.

Hi John,
You hit the nail right on the nose concerning caster adjustment. It’s
very difficult to do with the shields in place if you care at all
about the paint and you can’t, at least I wont, drive it to the
alignment shop with the shields off which leaves trailering which I
have done in the past. When I did some major front end work last year
I did as you suggest and took it in , had the alignment checked and
knowing how much each turn of the upper fulcrum shaft changes the
castor angle it was a very simple matter to remove the shields and
make the final adjustments.
