Thanks everyone for your encouragement. I do have one thing on my
side with the interior. I had replaced all the carpets just before
I was forced to take the car off the road and tackle the cracked
frame rail that ultimately turned into this 3 year saga. So, I hope
that re-fitting the carpets will be pretty trivial compared to the
first time. Everything behind the seats and the sill area are,
however, working from scratch, so I have a lot to do. There is also
the small matter that since I hooked up the bonnet connector, I get
whisps of smoke from the fuse area behind the drop-down panel when
I turn on the headlights (and no lights). I can see this being one
of those long diagnostic tales, so I am ignoring it for now -
driving at night is some way off. Oh, and I have one other thing on
my side… I can watch the racing at Laguna Seca without leaving
the comfort of my living room if the E-type doesn’t cooperate…

Hey, it’s just a couple of miles for you. Just toss a blanket over
the part of the interior that’s not finished and hook up the bonnet
and bring’er over. If you can get here I am sure somebody can help
keep it running enough to get you back home.
