[E-Type] oh what a ride!

More memories.

This was the original For Sale post, I found here just a couple of days before flying to Atlanta…

Vaguely.

What I remember about your early participation in J-L was you used the car as your daily driver in the (IIRC) Miami area and you (again IIRC) were involved in an accident that pretty much destroyed the front end. That, and your car was at Coventry West having something done to it when I took my engine there for a rebuild.

The Jag Lovers picnics on NJ went on for few years in the early 2000s.

True, I used the E as a daily driver for a few years.

This is the accident you re talking about

In 2017 or 2018 during restoration I had the engine rebuild by Coventry West but never had the car there at least Since I owned it. Before that, and before the previous JL member I bought it from, the car was owned by a woman who ran a pizza shop in Atlanta and it was serviced by Coventry west!

That explains it. Your car and engine were mentioned when I was there and there was a light colored E-type being worked on, I assumed and apparently assumed wrong.

Hey pascal …you back home …looking for your interior photos please
Cheers

With a bonnet in such a compressed/wrecked condition (and also certainly the front frames) , was the shell undamaged as it seems?

The shell was pretty much ok. The bonnet and frames did their jobs

Pascal… I was at the NJ get together with you, and others, in my 66FHC. We left the affair at the same time, with me following you on Interstate 78 westbound. I gave up trying to keep up with you fearing the police pulling me over for Excessive!! Speed!!
I also remember you having wheel bearing problems and stopping along the way for repair. I don’t remember who did the repair however.
BTW Thanks Mike Ecke (sp?) for organizing the picnic.

Good memory!! Indeed I had an issue with a rear wheel bearing (too much fun at limerock) and had it fixed by a Jaguar specialist and JL member in…. Can’t remember. Mechanicsburg PA?

I attended one of the JL New Jersey events, possibly the first put together by Mike Eck. It was great to meet other JL folks not just JCNA folks… JL folks were already friends before we met. I also remember Pascal’s crash and a somewhat distorted post the day of or after telling us about it. Also Pascal won the wild man’s award in my mind because he drove the car to the north west and posted a photo of his car on a snowy road. Did you bring the car to Lime Rock Park once? Seems I remember it there… but I’m old so memory isn’t the same as it once was.

I went to the limerock track day at least twice, maybe three times.

The trip to the JCNA AGM in Seattle was memorable. 44 or 44 hours door to door! From Miami.

The first picture was just after running out of gas on I90 and coasting to this bar/restaurant/gas station that was out of gas. The woman at the bar lent me her Taurus so I could go get a can of gas a few miles away.
