[E-Type] Racer 4 sale

Listers,
Someone was looking for a racecar a while back. I found a 65 coupe on
the autotrader site. 602-548-9368 Az.

Usual disclaimers

Al

Hi Al,

I have personally seen this car. It is vey nice. It was on display at Phx.
Int. Raceway about a month ago. Definately sorted for racing. Can’t
remember the price, but it was probably fairly priced in my mind. Can tell
you that you will not get it for the price of a tool kit, however. .

OK I built an adapter so my mini-pitman arm puller can be used as a ball
joint puller without damaging the parts. I got it all apart in short order
like 3 hours complete but for the lower wish. Yup (Everything) brakes, ball
joints, tie rod ends the works all but the lower wish. (OK so it took me an
hour to craft the tool so I didn’t have to use the pickle fork or damage
the parts. (4 hours with tool making)

I have new bushs for the lower wish and I want to replace them. I read the
book. Arr*555RRRRR^^^^rrr##@@@@@!. (read the book?)

Help me here ----- do I really have to remove the torsion bar in order to
replace the lower inner bushs?

Is it a big job?

MT

Tom, yes you do have to remove the torsion bar in order to remove the
lower A-arm, but no, it is not a big job. I loosened the casting bolted
into the front lower picture frame member so it would rotate out and then
loosened the bolts holding the torsion bar to the reaction arm. There are
only two bolts keeping the torsion bar from turning … once everything was
loose, it was a simple matter to rotate the front casting out of the picture
frame, and then the whole thing came out, still with the rear reaction
member attached to the torsion bar (rust, friction and inertia). Keeping
the torsion bar attached to the rear reaction plate kept
reinstallation/adjustment simple. The passsenger side reaction plate came
off, but I had marked it, so reinstallation was simple again. The only
difficulty in the whole procedure was getting the nuts back on the reaction
plate bolts - tight spot.
Good luck.

yes, but it isn’t as bad as some projects. Just be sure to mark which
spline lines up with the grove.
