[E-Type] RE: E-Type Section

Terry: As someone who tries to do most of my own work and has used Mark’s
pages for reference I sure would like to know what procedures on his pages
are considered uneconomical and dangerous. How about sharing that
information with the rest of us? Feel free to let me know off list if you
like.

Yes Terry. I am also a “doo-it-yerself” guy and would rather learn about
these things while OUT from under the car. I promice not to call you an idiot
for being safety conscious.

I waited for 30 years to finally get my 1967 FHC and knew that I
would have to learn a lot on my own and would pick up some of
more serious and harder to do items by watching my friendly
Jag Mech. as he worked on my car.

Shortly after I bought the car, I found this list and over the past 2
years I have asked many a stupid question and sucked every
morsel of info I could get from the various pages list members
provide - FREE. I also obtained all of the “official” manuals I
could lay my hands on.

Although I was new to the E- Type when I got it, I had some 33
years experience restoring ancient American iron as hobby, I
found this list and the information I have gained in just 2 short
years nearly equaled what I had to learn on my own over 33
years with American rust.

Through the graciousness of the members of this list, I found I was
occasionally in information overload because everyone was/is so
helpful. In fact, this list was so helpful and contributed to my
confidence level that I added a S2 2+2 and then a S3 2+2.
Adding the latter two was unthinkable until I found this list and
the “FREE” assistance & knowledge it has provided both from
the commercial establishment types and shade tree mechanics.

To all of you, THANK YOU for your information and general concern
for keeping the E-Types going. I’ll take any information a/o assistance
I can get and if’n I’m dumb enough to jack up any car with a popsicle
stick and it crushes my thick skull, I deserve it for not exercising a level
of common sense that I would expect a teenager to have.

The only information that is bad is that which you do not have !

I don’t think this list is so wanting for advice that we need to tolerate a
bad attitude.
