[E-Type] Re: Paint or Plate

Fellow Listers, I need to refinish my front suspension members on my series
II. They were cadmium plated when new. However, I hear that cadmium plating
is both difficult to obtain and not very durable. I see that Eastwood Co.
offers a powder coating kit. Would powder coating be a viable alternative to
plating for suspension parts? The parts would also need to be heated to 400
dgrees to bake on the finish. Is this a problem? TIA

Cadmium plating is very easy to do but is not at all durable , those bolts
and nuts that have a silvery/goldie look are cadi plated but it dont last
very long when exposed to wet.-----Original Message-----
