Here is a tip I was given on reinstalling the speedo needle:
Look carefully under the “I” in “Ignition” that is printed under the
ignition light on the speedometer face. You should see a little white dot.
With the speedometer at rest reinstall the needle so that the needle is
pointing at that dot. Note that you will need to gently lift the
speedometer needle over the wire stop at zero MPH to get the needle to the
correct side of the speedometer scale.
This tip was passed on to me about 3-4 years ago on this list. I can’t
remember who posted it. I guess it can be found in the archives.
