Ray,
will you stop doing that?
I wonder if my retirement paycheck would be enough to live over there.

I’m not sure. Even our bucket-of-bolts e-type doesn’t venture out on
days like this. Fortunately the white stuff is relatively rare.

Paul,
Gee, I guess you got me on the Jag content! About the only Jag
content I can come up with is I often do drive the Jag down these
same roads, and the Jag is parked in the detached garage/shop,
which isn’t too far from the attached garage where the BMW is
usually parked. Is that close enough? If not, I guess I’ll just
have to slink off to some dark corner to hide my head in shame…–

“Thought you guys might like to see the daily rush-hour commute.

but omitted to mention the aggravation at weekends with %*@#ing harlequin
clad cyclists (and no, I’m not anti-cyclist as me and the old 10 speed go
back a LONG way and still enjoy a few miles together - hell, even toured
“the continent” in my youth). However, picture the roads that Ray showed
with these jerks running side by side and not willing to even go “in line”
or let cars past. I have literally gone miles behind these guys who seem to
get pleasure from causing as much traffic congestion and frustration as
possible (but who do not seem to be subject to minor inconveniences like
Stop signs, unlike motorists, be they on two wheels or 4). Do I seem riled
up? You bet - nice weekend afternoon, top down (of course, is it ever up?)
in the E, beautiful curves though the woods then, that damn rolling
roadblock! Don’t even think about giving these guys a brief “toot” to let
them know that you’d like to pass - then you get a hail of invective and
probably a few attempts to kick your car when you try to pass…

Also, notice those nice clean double yellow lines - anyone want to guess
what it costs to put a wheel across that if the Californian version of Mr.
Plod should see you do it?

Ray has the timing right, take these roads during the work week, not when
the cyclists from hell are present!!!

(Hope that makes our other list members feel a bit better now…).

John (whose 10 speed isn’t quite as old as the E, but probably not far
off…)

Ask " Bigfoot " for help in directing those %*@#ing cyclists.

The grow like ants on the roads over here also when the rain stops in the
spring.
All think that they are potential " Tour de France " winners.

What in the world is that white stuff?

Where I live in the desert, I’ve only seen traces of it maybe 4 times in the
last 30 years. It didn’t stay long enough to analyse.
