[E-Type] Spin-on oil filter adapter

Downside… YES!!
First of all, filters are cheaper and much easier to get. Changing the
filter is much quicker and cleaner, so you don’t get to spend the
“quality time” under your car with hot oil running up your arms.
Beg to differ. Running oil is not a reason to convert. All you need do
is loosen the cannister and let the oil drain into a suitable container.
No need to loosen the drain plug in the filter head.

Not canning the “cans” just yet…

Welsh is offering one of these adapter kits and it would sure make filter
changes a lot easier. Aside from “originality” is there any downside to using
a spin on filter with this adapter kit?

Sandy,

There was a lot of discussion about oil flow restriction in the past, but I
don’t remember the specifics. - mitch______________________________________

Hi Sandy
I know that I am biased in that I sell a filter conversion kit for the Xke.
But, take a close look at the Welsh adapter, You will only find 4 holes for
the oil to flow through, Ours can be seen on our website.
I hope this helps
