Well… it’s next weekend, same time as the SOL run. and…
well it’s about 20 hours closer… and … well… I might as
well 'fess up SOL guys, I’m gonna stay local-ish.
I haven’t got enough miles on the car to satisfy my concerns
about reliability so … have fun!

Well that was a nice show. Very well organized, LOTS of
British rust all in one place, that would be my '66 E, the
other cars were spotless. Some pre-war cars, lots of Spits
and TR6’s nice venue. the rally was … uhh… interesting
but very fun. Over 100 miles on my car with nary a problem
other than moving the exhaust a bit and catching a branch
under the car in an attempt to be polite to traffic.
If you live close try it out next year. And sorry that I
didn’t contact anyone who is out that way but my schedule
was tighter than I thought that it would be.

Hi David,
I think there’s a matching outlet near the thermostat housing; a
hose would connect the two. I can’t recall if it was for bleeding
air out of the system or if it was a by-pass hose…

I was there. Was that your maroon E-type? Very nice. I
took a few pics of your engine. Only three E-types there,
but lots and lots of MGs, Triumphs, Minis, other Jags,
Rolls, Lotuses and more. Got to look at an MGC too. Great
show.–

Yup… that was mine! I guess I’ll put a ‘‘I’m on J-L’’ sticker
on it or something next time!
Thanks for the pic, that’s where all my work has been to date.

There’s usually a follow-up website to the Texas ABCD with lots of
great still shots, but I haven’t found one yet for the 2011 show.
There is, however, a YouTube video at
that’s fun to watch. It’s 6:47 minutes long, with the Jaguars
starting at 4:30, and the E-Types starting at 5:45. The video
doesn’t do justice to the enormity of this show… it truly is the
largest British Car show in all of Texas.
I was out of town for this year’s show, but it’s the first year
I’ve missed in a long time. E-Types are typically under-
represented; in 2009 my Series Three was the only one there… only
show I’ve ever gotten First in Class! ;->
