[E-Type] window scrapers

I am trying to install the window scrapers. These are the
rubber strips that mount on the door on the outside of the
window. It looks like they are held in place by clips or
maybe clips in combinations with rivets. I have lost some
of the clips. I also lost a scraper which is why I am
replacing them.
Would it be possible to attach these scrapers with an
adhesive such as the weather-stripping material? Any and all
ideas welcome.

Hi Peter,

We just installed ours with rivets after the clips felt loose.

These attach to the chrome pieces on the outside of the door? If I
remember when I did mine on the OTS, the clip is another one of those
“special” parts.

As I recall, it’s a folded over metal clip with barbs on the side that
goes to the metal side and smooth on the side that goes on the rubber.

I also ran a bead of weather-strip adhesive down mine to hold them in
place while putting the clips on.

Peter,

You can buy new clips cheap from BAUSA, XKs, others.

Just get the right ones and save yourself trouble in the
future.

Peter,
I just put on new scrapers. I am pretty sure I saw the clips in XK’s
Unlimited catalog. If you can’t get them, I would recommend you rivet the
new scrapers in.
I doubt you would have good luck with adhesive.
