Flocking Powder in Tool Tray and Cubby Boxes

Mine are metal also.

Roger, I think we had this conversation years ago, but when (month and year?) did the patent number go on the head, and what did the pre-patent marked hammer look like?

Regards,
Ron

I was distracted in July 2020 by the loss of Jeanine and never finished the tray. I finished it today.
Here is the original factory work, lumpy and variable coverage. Plywood surface chipped out by countersunk screw heads even though they had countersunk washers. They had green paint, maybe that did it.

Bent nail, factory work.

Yellow wood glue was needed on one of the support braces.

For the flock I used spray adhesive from a craft store.
The flocking kit came with a plastic squeeze bottle to spread the fiber by little puffs, but it didn’t work very well, so I used a kitchen flour sifter, much better, more uniform coverage.

I found that if I missed a spot I could give it a shot of the adhesive and sprinkle on some more flock and it blended in fine.
Shake and brush off the excess with a paint brush.
All done.

Perhaps not the velvet quality job of a jewelry cabinet, but the tools are my jewels. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
