Grease nipples on rear axles CV joints

Hi Everyone,

I just noticed that the CV joints on the rear axles half way between the differential and the actual axles of my 93 have grease fittings. Should I be greasing them and if so, is the grease nipple a standard size for a regular grease gun?

There are no CV joints on your car, only Universal Joints.
A small amount of grease can be forced into the joints every 10K miles as part of regular scheduled maintenance.

I should have said universal joints. I’m not sure why my brain was stuck on CV joints. I will go ahead and grease them.

Well, I greased the U-joints in the rear. I didn’t see any grease nipples on the front end; can I assume that the steering fittings are permanently lubricated?
