Description: As many of you know, I’ve been trying for some time to reproduce C20766, which is the proper thermostat for 4.2 S1 E-Types. This wax-motor thermostat has a sleeve which controls the slot bypass and a fully open set point of 74C. (These thermostats are also backwards-compatible with the Smiths bellows style used in earlier engines, and will allow you to use a higher rated pressure cap. So while they are intended for pre-1968 4.2’s, they will also work on 3.8’s and 3.4’s.)
While I haven’t been successful at putting this item back into production, I have secured the last remaining shelf stock of a correct thermostat produced by a European manufacturer. Once these are gone, they may never be available again. Before these go up in January as a regular CoolCat product, I’m offering Jag-Lovers the opportunity to purchase these at a group buy price. Limit: two per customer.
I do not have gaskets at this time, but they are available from the usuals.
