Help with xk8 check engine light

I have a 2000 xk8…it has an engine code. P1384…its a vvt solenoid fault. The car has been to the dealership severao times and an independent euro repair and neither of them can clear it. Help

Has the solenoid been replaced? If not then maybe it needs to be.

I had a similar problem in my shop and several shops tried to fix it with wires directly to the VVT actuator. (Still faulted the circuit)

I ended up replacing the ECM and reset the immobilizer to rectify the problem.

The internal ECM circuit failed for the VVT actuator and the fix was a good-used replacement ECM.
