How do I: Change the title of a topic?

You have created a new topic and then notice a typo in the title, or you want to edit it to make it more appropriate/easier to search. What do you do?

  1. Go to your topic, scroll to your first post and click the “edit” icon (a pencil) at the bottom right corner of your post.

  2. The composer window will open. Simply edit the title as required.

  3. At this point it is good form to click the “(add edit reason)” link found just above the title line. Enter a very brief reason (i.e. changed spelling) for the edit.

  4. At any point, if you change your mind about editing the topic you can click on the “cancel” icon at the bottom left of the composer window.

  5. Click on the “Save Edit” icon at the bottom left of the composer window.

Finished!

You can also click on the pencil symbol next to the title and edit the title without opening a composer window.

You can also move the topic to a different category (with or without editing the text) by selecting the category from the drop down list.
