How to reattach Rear View Mirror on XK 8?

Need help in reattaching

I use 2 pocket screw drivers to remove/install the mirror without ‘banging’ or hammering.

I broke a windscreen once when I worked at the dealer and I was NOT HAPPY so I decided a better way.

Lever up/down with the small steel rods or screw drivers.
