ID Plate Question - Late Mark V

Did the factory deliver Mark V chassis number 628501 with engine T9727 ?

There is a Mark V for sale on ebay with this combination on the ID plate which is secured with Phillips drive screws. The stamped numbers and letters have font and size similar to my car with chassis 628166 built June 1950 with a Z-series engine. Perhaps the T-series installations overlapped with Z-series?

I suspect it’s correct see: http://www.saloondata.com/cars/detail/?car=628459

It has a similar engine number and isn’t far in terms of chassis number.

Yes, it is the information I had dating from 1981 in the CJA register that I entered into the jag-lovers registry and later to saloondata.
There are a few in that chassis number range with T engines, but not many.
We have noticed this with XK120s, that the engine numbers were slightly scattered and did not run consecutively with chassis numbers. The factory did not practice the first in first out philosophy, they were more random, perhaps due to engine testing on the test beds.
Body numbers, on the other hand, are fairly consecutive with chassis numbers, but again not perfectly.
Looks like a decent car.
