Identify this Transmission

This is the tranny that came with this busted up E-type I am restoring. The number stamp in both locations on the tranny is EE2545. The funny thing is, the Mfg Plate clearly says “Gear Box # EE2543”.
Is it actually possible that the tranny could be off by just 2 numbers? Or is it a “typo” in manufacturing?

They made so many numbering mistakes at Coventry, I would not be surprised…

What are the chances of a PO finding a replacement transmission 2 numbers off of the original? I’d say next to zero, so odds are it is a numbering mistake at the factory and you have the transmission that Coventry put in that car.

That’s what I thought. Thanks for confirming my hopes.
