On a 2004 XJ8, I’m getting several codes indicating misfires in cylinders 3,4,5,6. There doesn’t appear to be any leaks (car only has 73k miles) - is anyone familiar with which Motorcraft coils for the Lincoln LS are compatible?
If not, can anyone speak to the NGK coils?
You can get a full set on Ebay for just North of $100. It may make sense to replace them all. But if not you can purchase 4 if needed. I just purchased one recently that failed completely on mine… Full miss on #3. Drop the new coil in, all was good!
I can get the NGK for about $35 a piece which I don’t mind - more concerned about quality and what’s best for the car since we’re not talking about thousands of dollars.
The worst that can happen is they may not last… Everything I have read, people have had good success with low buck coils on Ebay. In my case time will tell, as the replacement I made has been in the car a Month.
