Description: 1948 MK IV Jag , very original and and a very desirable car that I fell in love with, everything I liked in a Vintage car, I bought this car last June and decided I would restore it to a high spec and consequently have spent a lot of money on the usual stuff, refurbishment of major components etc. I got to the stage of re installing everything and looking forward to running her which in my opinion would take approximately 8 -10 weeks work, however my plans changed and I am now in the US and cannot complete her so shes for sale, here is a synopsis of completed work and costs so you can make your appraisal
Full respray inside and out in Lavender Grey including wire wheels
Full leather retrim of all panels, rebuilt and restored seating in olive green, new head lining along with new carpets in British racing green
Restored wood work and dash lacquered and polished in burr walnut
Engine has done 75K and has had all new bottom end bearings and new piton rings (Minimum work needed due to low mileage)
Dynamo rebuilt and restored with voltage control box converted to electronic with negative earth conversion, starter motor ok just needs cleaning
Re cored and rebuilt radiator, all new hoses
Rebuilt and restored twin carbs, specialist remarked on very good condition and original fittings (confirming low mileage)
New tyres and tubes
All chrome restored except the head lights as these are fine, chrome includes all running board strips, and boot floor strips, boots look really nice on these with the chrome strips
Car includes, SS full exhaust, original battery box, some original tools, spare door handles and other spares,polished water rail, air plenum, and carbs, all the parts to complete the car are with it, only one windscreen locking catch is missing, the car requires the steering rod end joints fitting, the brake drums relining, ( all new parts with the car) and everything putting back together, there is a lot more I could mention and will answer questions as they arise however I must stress this is a project that requires time only, no major expense ( I here you say ,“I’ve heard that before”, however I can assure you this is the case, the car has good provenance with history and pictures of when new, the car is located in Gainsborough near Lincon UK
