Jamming acceleration

When pumping the pedal in starting the car the pedal sometimes doesn’t lift and the v12 over revs ( on full acceleration). This rectifies it’s self within 5 or 6 seconds so identifying where it’s jamming is difficult. It is not in the pedal mechanism nor cable (replaced that) so where next. The linkages look free and not catching any where. I suppose the TPS or throttle bodies are next. Anybody have any experience in this?

Trev - why are you “pumping” the pedal - do you have carburetors or fuel injectors? if fuel injectors, you are simply providing more air to the starting mixture not fuel - if pedal is sticking, check to see if the throttle butterfly shafts bushings are worn as this may be causing the “sticking pedal” condition - with the throttle position sensor going to a position equating a high rpm position, and the butterflies being open, then yes you would have a high rpm condition - Tex.

Or in the cabin. Binding at the pedal to floor hinge?
