[Lumps!] Fire in the holes!

Progress!!!

I found I was missing power at the fuxe box on one side! ‘‘Hot all
the time’’. This is my Dr. K harness.

I called him and he told me where to look in the harness. I did for
an orange wire and a yellow wire. No luck!

Nest, Jump in power to the yellow wire at the fuse box. I did!
Big short in the jumper wire!! then it stopped. I looked some more
and found a harness with fusible links I put to ground! Black goesd
to ground? Not always! I peeled the harness back & ‘‘EUREKA’’. here
are the big yellow and big orange wires!! spliced in a new section
of fusible link. Attached to hot all the time! Cranked the engine!
it seemed like one cylinder was trying to fire. son just put his FI
jeep back together, it would not fire. he primed it. It ran. I
primed my LT1. It ran! but as soon as the prime runs out it stops!
therefore, I now go to see if the injectors are receiveng a phased
signal. if so, clean out the injectors. If not, back to the
Cadillac manual.

It sure is noisy, right out of the Sun Coast head pipes!

Help, any clues from anyone out there?

Carl,
Are you getting fuel pressure? When you turn the ignition key to
the first position, do you hear the fuel pump run for a second or
two before you continue to turn the key and engage the starter?–

I’m sure you’ve reprogrammed the ECM to not shut off after 5
seconds. From your description, the ECM is not likely to be
the problem, since it doesn’t start at all unless it’s
primed.

Howell Engineering made a mistake on my harness too, but it
didn’t cause me as much trouble as yours did. It’s a shame
considering how much we spend for a custom harness. You’d
think they’d be done correctly.

In any case, you’ll be running up and down your street
terrorizing the neighbors in a day or so, running without an
exhaust system. Congrats–
