[Lumps!] MK2 build

Hello,
Long time, no updates.
Frame arrives Tuesday from Art Morrison Enterprises (no
affiliation). Pictures posted.
Body goes into the glass blast room Tuesday. Did blasting
test on a door and the spare tie cover. Minor pin holes in
the lower corners of the doors and in the center - window
mechanism brace? Insulation held water to the door skin.
We’ll see what else shows up.
Going to try thin patches held from behind with metal panel
adhesive.
I’ll post more pictures of the trip to the blaster.–

Rodney, Rob,

Kudos to both of you on your builds.

Rodney, so it’s your front fenders I have been admiring. I
may have to do that to mine. Suppose to be able to get
17x8’s under it as is in the front, but the frame ended up
slightly wider in front than I wanted.
Rob, you 71 looks very sanitary under the hood. That takes
time and attention to detail. Spent much time there on
my '77.

Powertrain:
Current thoughts include an aluminum Dart/Ford 351 Windsor
(no affiliation) somewhere over 400 cu in. The tops of the
foot wells will have to be relieved. Transmission will be
a TCI (no affiliation) 6 speed automatic. Rear is a
Strange Racing (no affiliation) 9’’ Ford with 4:11 and Eaton
TruTrac.

Second, but was first in consideration, is a Dart/
Ford 302 at 370 cu in. Having put a 472 BBC in the '77, I
do love the torque. This where the 370 will fall down.

Note on the rear of the frame and body: Frame should be
narrow enough to accommodate 17 x 9’’ wheels - similar to
minilites!–

To any with v8 MK 2 Lumps:

I would like to know what hood clearance you ended up with
your V8 builds - engine, carb/injection, air cleaner to
hood clearance. Photos if you have them.

Thanks,–

Now I know hood clearance is going to be a problem.
