[Lumps!] Power Window Switches

I seem to have to replace the rocker switches (power window &
sunroof) way too frequently…

has anyone found a solution, work-a-round or even better a non-jag
replacement?

Thanks

Geo

Geo, I’ve often read on this forum that the switches can be taken
apart and cleaned. I’d think there would be some spray or cream
that could be put in while everything was apart that would help
keep things clean. A spray contact cleaner might be able to be
introduced into the switch without disassembly. This product ought
to be able to be had at an electronics supply shop. I used to use
it in tv tuners 30 years ago…

Thanks for everyones input on and off the board…

What I learned as the ultimate lump lightweight…

A new switch at the dealer is 10 days away and $96 bucks, special
order.

For anyone wanting replacement switches, Welsh Enterprises in
Steubenville Ohio has them for about $12.

For rookies like me…before you buy original or aftermarket
switches…check to make sure the male part of the switch is mated
with the female end of the wiring.

When I took the console apart I found that I did not have a bad
switch…merely the female end of the wiring had worked itself
loose from the male part of the switch…

A relatively cheap, $12 lesson in lumps… (and a not so bad,
Hour-and-a-half drive, round trip to Ohio).–
