The converted cars are doing fine
or have met their end by natural or
unnatural causes.
Oher Jaguars are gone or still
in the game as sold.
Mine is imperfect and incomplete
in a way. But, it starts right up,
drives well and looks good doing it.
Not bad for a 30+ year old sedan…
It’s Lt1 is the best of the iron
SBC’s. Optispark and all.
AC not charged.
speedo correction module
not installed.
Cruise control bellows not
installed.
Hand brake not working.
Head liner sags.
But, a distinct pleasure to drive.

No further interest?
Looks like it.
Done for !
Wow, only minor issues remain.
Way back when, I had a running
‘‘punch list’’ on my hi tech
Axim 5 hand held PC.
Alas, it crashed. Ugh, it was on
‘‘notes’’ rather than an MS version
of Word. Lost on ‘‘hot reboot’’!@!
Oh well, the car has had starter
issues.
Resolved. Included an Everydayx
sourced ignition switch.
Mostly all well.
Dusted and Rain X’d for an
errand in the rain in a bit.
Like a ‘‘normal’’ car, yowee !!!

Things move on, Carl. Forums and newsgroups wax and wane.
They start, flourish for a while, mature and decline as
people find other outlets for their creativity and their
needs change. It’s the way of the Internet.
Almost none of the newsgroups and forums I joined when I
first came to this part of the world are still in existence.
The third server in these 12 years was just shut down on the
15th. I hadn’t been in there in over 2 years! My life
moved on too.

I keep tabs on things here, but its is very quiet.
The XJ6 and I parted some time ago, complicated reasons but
effectively we had irreconcilable differences, stemming from
that fact that I hated its guts.
Having sworn off Jaguars, I managed to wait a few years
before buying another - this time a 1965 MKII. It came to
me pre-lumped but incomplete and in need of restoration, so,
that’s where we are.
Current activities / focus areas include:
Restoring the woodwork (dash parts really)
Fitting seats and console from XJ8
3)Removing tired 283 and sourcing a replacement motor
(probably go for a crate engine) and 700r4
4)Prepping for carpet and headliner
Needs other things too of course, but a few steps at a time.

Bob;
Great to hear from you. I guess your
‘‘lump’’ is history for whatever reasons.
I’ll not forget the help you exteded to
me.
Elinor: Yeah, things do move on.
Your enthusiasm and skills are
admired and would envigorate
this place. But, there is a limit.
The other place is your choice and
we respect that.
Treozen:
Post often and fully, pictures
and all. Many of us still here
to enjoy and possibly help!!

Carl,
I still have my 83 XJ6 with the LT1/4L60E along with a
couple of XK8 coupes. I suspect many from this list
continue to check in now and then but don’t post because
there hasn’t been much happening here lately. I could be
that the action has moved to another site or there just
aren’t as many conversions being preformed anymore,
especially on the older cars like ours. Andrew would be the
best one to comment on the state of Jaguar conversions
these days.–
