Mk2 question re 'correct' finish to engine bay brackets

Hi guys, I am preparing the engine bay brackets for my '64 Mk2 prior to refitting after a bare shell respray. I would like to know the correct paint finish for the brackets which hold the starter solenoid, voltage regulator, battery retainer and brake fluid jar. I am unsure whether to use satin or gloss black.
Thanks in advance to any replies.

Who would know ? after all this time in the heat of a engine bay , gloss could turn mat !
I do have a air filter bracket that has not been touched , it looks mat .
All the other parts I have come across , have just had what looks like one coat of finish paint , no undercoat or the like !

How about if you did them in Satin , you would be, not right or wrong :sunglasses:

Yes Ian I take your point re the choice of satin but I really would like confirmation of what coating these brackets had when they left the factory.

I forgot to add what finish did the engine block have and were the core plugs painted or not.

JCNA has produced a guide

Thanks Tiger for the very useful link. Got what I needed from it.
