MKII Ignition Switch

Hello again,

I’ve just purchased a new ignition switch for my MKII but the new item comes with a hex nut and not the original round securing nut with the two slots as in the photo.

Unfortunately, the threads are different. Has anyone encountered this issue before and resolved it?

Cheers,

Tim

Look’s like all the new switches come with a nut , even the one SNG sale has a nut , looking on there web page , so not sure why they are saying its for a MK2 ?

If you can send it back , buy a good used one ,

Or find some one with the right size Die to run down the new switch !

Hi Ian,

It’s just ridiculous not to have a round locking ring as per the original. Not having the same thread as the original is also ridiculous. I think that I have found a good used switch from a dealer here in Australia. If that’s not satisfactory then I will find the thread size and run a die over the new one.

Cheers,
Tim
