[modern] 88 Running but need a fuel line

Hi,
Got the 88 running but all the activity I notice the fuel line
is really showing it’s age and cracking. Actually saw some gas seeping
if I move it around. Have another one on order but in yet.

Has any one tried removing the collars that crimp the hose to

the fittings and installing new hose with a banned clamp that is
mechanically installed. I remember that in the 70’s there was actually
a high pressure screw on clamp that was available. I used it on a A/C
system which is significantly a lot higher the 40# fuel pump. The only
difference is the flammability of gas if does go to leaking.

Comments.

Dana,
The Jaguar CD states that you must relieve the pressure from the gas line
by removal of the fuel pump relay under the passenger’s side panel. You must
then crank the engine to relieve the pressure in the system, replace the
relay and disconnect the ground. That should help alleviate the leaking gas
problem

Good luck
