Hello all, my “baby” will start but not run. Two months ago this happened
and there was a code that referred to a vacuum hose being pinched . I
fixed
that and all was fine for a few weeks. Then one day, when my gas gauge was
reading 1/8 full, it happened again. I put in some gas and the problem
went
away. From that point I never let the gauge go below 1/4 full. Yesterday I
went to fill up and when I started the car it would not run. It will start
and run very rough for a few seconds and die. There is no code showing.

pump relay was replaced 6 months ago.
Any ideas?

Not sure if it’s the same cause, but I had exactly the same problem
on my 94 XJ12 (right before I sold it). Ended up being an electrical
relay that’s apparently in series with the starter relay. Sorry for
not being more mechanically specific, but that’s how my mechanic explained
it, and it certainly resolved the problem.
