Going home from work yesterday, the low pad warning came up.
Living in the Chicago area without a heated garage I would prefer to
do the brakes in warmer weather.
Can anyone tell me about how long I can safely wait before doing
the brakes. It is about 40K miles since they were last done

Mike,
I would order the pads, and find someone, or a place
that will let you work on the car inside.
There is no telling how long you have left without
removing the wheels, and then you might as well put the pads on.
Of course, you could pay someone to put the pads you buy
on…at your own risk…
