[modern] Seat Covers

The first passengers I carried in my new XK8 were my 9 & 10-year-old
nephews. Even though we were dressed for a funeral, it didn’t stop them
from placing their winter-soiled shoes on my nice, new ivory leather seats
and even (AAArghhh!) the dashboard. I quickly educated them in the finer
points of riding in a Jaguar and they are expected to fully recover.

However that experience got me wondering if anyone has used or even seen the
seat covers Jaguar offers. I have some questions such as: What color are
they? What are they made of? Can they be installed & removed easily or
are they meant for permanent installation?

You are incredibly forbearing. Had these been my nephews they would probably
have gone in the hole together with the stiff !!!

Jim,
I have an accessory catalog for 2000 XJ and XK models. It shows washable
cotton seat covers for the front seats of an XK - part number JLM 20267.
They would be different for the 2001 due to the change in the headrest. The
fact that they describe them as “washable cotton” seems to indicate fairly
easy removal.
