My 95 VDP had a problem with the traction control. When accelerating
the gas pedal would “kick back” at my foot similar to what ABS does
to he brake pedal when the ABS detect skidding.
It turned out to be having the wrong size tires on the rear and the
correct size tires on the front. The PO did not realize that she
was sold the wrong size tires.
The way it was explained to me is that the sensors that detect wheel
slip see the difference in speed between the front and rear tires and
wrongly conclude that the wheels are slipping.

Nicolas - certainly a strange one. Does it change with Traction Control
turned off? Can you see if the throttle cable is binding anywhere ( need to
look from underneath to check around throttle body area ). Is it different
with the car warm - there is a known tranmission problem with getting 1st
gear when cold. Mine has a minor manifestation of this, but it is only a few
seconds delay in getting 1st on moving off for the first time, so no major
issue.
I think you may have found a new problem here, so let us know how you get
on.
Cheers - Jez

Subject: [modern] XJR6 driving trouble…
Hi All !
Just a quick mail cause i’m dying under my work load…
My XJR makes me crazy. When starting from 0mph, when i hit
the throttle, the
car start but is very hesistant, not much power, very
frightening…it
accelerate and stop as if i was pumping on the throttle pedal.
Don’t know if it’s the traction control throttle motor or the
trans… The
trans oil level is ok
no warning light on on the dashboard.
When i’m on the highway, it’s fine, no more problem, i can press the
throttle pedal without any trouble and feel the power
A bit strange…
If someone is able to help me, i’d be happy !
cheers
Nicolas
