[modern] XJS alloy wheels suitable for XJ40?

Hi

Currently I’m looking for a substitute for the damn ?#&/*"@??!
TD-wheels, which were originally supplied with my 1990 Daimler Six 4.0.

I now have the chance to get my hands on used 5-spoke wheels, which came
standard with a 1993 XJS (European model). They are 7x16 and, after me,
they suit the XJ40 perfectly.

A few hours ago I was told not to buy them, because e.g. the diameter of
the hub does not correspond at all to the one on the XJ40. Will mean,
that the original XJS hubcap would not suit the XJ40 hub at all. Besides
this, the handling would change remarkably.

Are there any opinions out there? Or did someone do this kind of
conversion yet?

Thank you in advance for all “Buyers Guides”.

The 5 spoke wheels that were available on the XJ-S were also fitted to
the XJ40 model!

The wheels: 16" x 7" came in Silver Coated, Diamond Turned and
Chrome plated. They are perfectly suitable for fitting to XJ saloons
up to 97MY 6 cylinder saloons only.

I would curtail any further conversations with the person you spoke
to - on the subject of Jaguars.

Regards
