We have a mark x that we need to do some brake work on (rear). We have not been too happy with the places we found so far. Anyone knows of a good mechanic that can work on 1964-65 era cars in DC/MD/VA? We also have 64 etype.

About 50 years ago the landlord of the place i worked had a Mk10. His car had failed it’s annual test due to oil leaking from the diff onto the brake pads.
The local main agent wanted a blank cheque to do the work and none of the local garages were interested so in desperation he asked me.
I knew nothing specifically about the job but a week later it was all done, outside on my back on concrete in January.
The car passed it’s test (and so, I felt, did I) 
I didn’t find it difficult to do, just worked methodically with simple hand tools so you should get the job done by anyone reasonably competent if you can find one.
