New to the Forums

Hi everyone. I recently inherited a 76 xj12 series 2 from my folks. It had been sitting in a barn for a long time. I have had so much fun getting it running. I’m absolutely in love with the car and I m close to having it road ready. My recent project has been working on the fuel system. So far I’ve replaced all of the hoses in the trunk, added fuel filters coming out of the tanks, pulled the tanks and cleaned them. Now I have both fuel rails out and I’m cleaning/rebuilding all 12 injectors and replacing those hoses. I have had a hard time though, finding replacement fuel pressure regulators. I’m pretty sure the right side regulator is bad. Is there any modern replacement?

Welcome Alan!

Great car and great opportunity to keep a tradition!

You may have seen there’s a special forum dedicated to the 12 cylinder engine - folks there might be in a better position to answer your particular question.

As a general advice it would be helpful to know the specifications of your car. It should be fuel injected, but which regional peculiarities apply?

Likewise, speaking generally, most parts of series XJ cars can be recovered or obtained. “Modern replacements” frequently are not the simple drop-in and feel-good solutions they are advertised to be. So you might be better advised to either shop the specialists or scour the big bay for leftovers …

Good luck

My jag is fuel injected pre HE engine. Thanks for the tip I’ll inquire about the regulators there. Unfortunately I have looked all over the place for a brand new regulator and can not find one. I may have to roll the dice on a used one off the bay.

Welcome Alan, just a tip you can attach a flag to your avatar to denote which country you reside, that can help people who may be in a better position to assist with local knowledge.

Have you checked SNG Barratt or Xks unlimited? They have an abundance of parts for our V12s.

SNG doesn’t have a Series II XJ12 catalog

But anyways google up EBC2606 And see if it matches what’s on your car. I had a 76XJ12C and I think that’s the part, but it’s been over 20 years so I am easily forgetful

That one is for the HE engine no? If it would work in a pre HE I would be happy to use it. I’m going to have the fuel rails back in next week. I ordered a pressure test kit and I’m going to make 100% sure the regulator is bad. Hopefully I don’t have to buy one. If so I found another thread on the xjs forum where a guy was talking about substituting a Delphi unit. I may look into that.
