ODB scanner for 2002 XKR

Every time I disconnect the battery, the check engine light comes on. I have a very understanding mechanic who resets it for free but I would prefer not to bother him. Can someone recommend an ODB scanner at a reasonable price that works with a 2002 XKR?

I bought one of these several years ago and found it works fine with my 1997 xk8, and all my other obd2 cars. It should work for your xkr.

I bought a FIXT scanner that links via Bluetooth. Works like a charm!
