OT - Brass plates for the TC Special

A little off-topic - I just thought I’d share what can be done in a home-based restoration…

I’m just so handy to have around. I wanted to label the warning lights on the TC Special’s dash (alternator signal light and the high-beam indicator) in period style. In order: mock-up, engraving the paint off the brass with the laser engraver (I own one for my furniture business), comparing the screen to the output, in it’s final placement on the dash. Ferric Chloride was used to etch the brass. Black paint fills in the engraved area. The KI-GASS disc is for the gas injector pump (supercharger) on the dash.

I don’t understand how you did it, but I’m impressed!

Did you do the engine turning, too?

No, I’m not. This was my first attempt, I’ve got a “B” set sitting int he sun to make sure the paint sticks!!!

No, I found someone on-line. A 12" x 36" sheet cost $300.00. I measured and drilled very carefully.
