OT (LBC): Yippeee!

Good evening everybody,

this month I was bound to have my Spitfire motor tested. With the never-ending hand brake saga of the XJ in the back of my mind I was a little bit concerned, but decided to turn to the checkpoint directly. Late last night I had checked all lights and fixed the horns with some contact spray.

Now what shall I say - because all the lifts were occupied we went to the exhaust analyser first. The car started running rich at 5 % CO, but was not hot enough yet. With temps rising, CO fell to a healthy 3 %. From underneath everything was clean and rust free; some wet spots at the diff, the gearbox and the engine didn’t matter and the suspension sported new ball joints, roll bar joints and bushings. 20 minutes later I had that stamp on my car plate. Feels good to get some extra hours life time back that were already written off! Too bad the topless season’s almost over!

Good night

Jochen
