1995 convertible 4.0… feels like I’m missing something here that holds the spare in place. Can someone give me a clue?
There should be a large washer and hand wheel but I think also the wheel should be facing the other way as there appears to be a huge amount of thread exposed.
I believe it goes through one of the 5 lug nut holes? Or have I been doing it wrong all these years? (The tire needs to face the other way regardless)
Tire needs to go other way or else you’ll squeeze your fuel filter.
Yes, fits thru one of lug holes.
It is a black plastic round fastener that screws on.
for the facelift, the system is slightly different , with a smaller bol (same size a the wheel nuts) instead of a black round part
as suggested before, the rim goes the other way round, with the threaded rod through one of the holes
