Put a micrometer across the blades of the reamer top and bottom and see if there is any variation. I must admit when I used the adjustable reamers I passed them all the way through the hole so any variation in parallel of the cutting blades would have been negated whereas your reamer stays static and could be producing a slightly tapered hole?
