Propshaft bolts - Front

Previously when removing the engine and gearbox I have also removed the the radio consol, centre consol and gearbox cover complete with soundproofing.

I had a lightbulb moment after all these years and thought why not feed in from the diff end a series of socket extensions and save all the above.

Clearly when refitting I will need assistance in aligning the gear-lever into its gaiter, but stage one has certainly worked.

Note I am dropping engine and box out the bottom.

I always did it that way: I just made sure that the gearshift lever knob and jam nut were off, and held the gearbox up to remove the rear engine mount. I could then get to and remove the bolts for the prop shaft and though it would usually tear the wires for the reverse switch, I would just make a extension to put on for putting it back in.

I never did all the ripping out of the inside to do it… I’m too lazy!
