Replaced rear springs last year (or rather a mechanic did) using springs from BCC Brakes & Suspension – twice the price of the items from the usual suppliers and augmented with polybush fittings. I do not have a picture to record the stance when newly fitted however after 2000 miles / 10 months the car is definitely 1”lower on the off side – floor to arch (spat) 22” as opposed to 23” on the near side. If not the new spring sagging is there anything else that can cause the difference? – Tyres are same and correctly inflated etc. spats same.
Worth checking the rubber pad , half way up the spring where it touches the body , from there to the axle it’s just the spring and the bush !
Thanks Ian. Was a new polybush when fitted but will investigate.
Sorry, I meant the pads.
Whilst around the back - what is the current consensus of preferred shock absorber?
As we are talking about the Springs , I see a up rated centre mount plate for sale .
I did not know there was a problem with the standard ones ?
Any one had a problem ?
I do like to add bolt on parts to my car , if it’s a improvement , or if it replaces a weak part
