My 1982 XJ6 has the analogue clock in the middle of the dashboard, and that’s very nice: But on a mate’s daimler double six I saw this really cool 80s trip computer with the green lights, where you can see the MPG, the average speed and so on. Apart from having to get a new dashboard panel to fit it in because it’s much bigger, is it possible to retrofit one of those? That would be cool.
Ypu need to have the wiring, that should be prewired. And you need a black box in the boot, next to the ECU, about 7x7 cm. It’s cool but mine was a little broken and I only used it as a cool and very 80s clock and average speed computer. I understand that you want it!
Is your speedometer cable drive or electric? 1982-ish is about when the change was made. The trip computer needs a signal from the speedometer transducer…which you won’t have with a cable-driven speedometer
