I have a 2005 S Type R and love it!!! Very reliable and have
not had to take it in yet for repairs!! Man is 400HP fun.
Biggest complaint is almost no aftermarket parts. Jaguar
guys just are not very active in hot rodding their cars. A
pulley, ECU programming and exhaust/intake improvements are
about it. Some rumor on a uprated twin screw blower but I
have not seen this yet. You can port the current blower and
possibly upgrade the stock inter-cooler.

The biggest differences are small. Bluetooth was optional in
2005 and standard in 2006. It’s expensive to put in cars
that came without it. Although all the wiring is in place
you must purchase some electronic modules and then they must
be programmed to work with the fiber optic network that runs
these cars. Also 19’’ wheels were an option for 2006.

I just got a 2006 and so far I must say that it is way past any
expectation I initialy had. My car is elegant and kicks the crap
out of the Mustang GT I had prior. From one who knows elegant cars,
this one is no so elegant but in its refinement will put you back
in your seat if you wish, and that is what I was lookin for.
Wrapped in leather, GPS aware, Bluetoth capable, and 400 Horses,
OWCH! Mainenance if you have to will be expensive, get an extended
warranty if possibile but I have had no issues so far. And I did
not want a JAG due to its repair history. But, I am new to it so I
suppose we will see. HUH?–
